- Pre-Season start: August 13th
- Regular season start: September 10th
Many of us have been waiting for it seem like years for the NFL season to kick back up. NFL and CBS Sports have recently released upcoming gaming schedules for the NFL pre-season and regular season. Good news is it’s only a few months away, bad news is if COVID-19 starts it’s second phase then we’re all screwed. Not to mention star NFL running back Ezekiel Elliott just tested positive for the virus. According to The Dallas Morning News about a handful more players were said to test positive but their names weren’t disclosed. Shortly after the news leaked Zeke tweeted “HIPAA??“
HIPAA ??

HIPAA is ‘The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act‘ and their primary purpose is to protect health care coverage for individuals who lose or change their jobs. However, HIPAA also includes Title II, better known as the Administrative Simplification Act. Title II requires the health care industry to become more efficient by encouraging the use of electronic media for transmission of certain patient administrative data. To make the public feel more secure with electronic transmission of data, the government developed privacy and security rules to complement the transaction rules.
A few moments later he tweeted again to clear up any confusion on who leaked the info.
My agent only confirmed. The story was already written. Reporters had been called my agent all morning.

My agent didn’t break the story to the media

Even with this situation and the whole world being in the midst of a pandemic it still seems as if the season will kick off as planned. The NFL is trying to determine how to start the season and keep both players and fans safe. One proposal is to test players 3 times per week. Other topics included locker room spacing and seating arrangements for fans. They also have to factor in government rules and regulations.
Fans and non fans of the sport took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the matter. Keep in mind we still have the kneeling situation which I feel people who are not even fans of the sport will watch just to see what’s gonna happen. If the season does start, that first game could have more viewers than Super Bowl XLIX in 2015. (114 milion)
