Years ago finding a good movie to watch meant calling up friends and family members to see what DVD’s they had, and most of the time they had what you had. Those searches usually lead to a planned trip to the movie theater, or Redbox.
Before streaming sites hit the market there were p2p file sharing sites like Limewire, Kazaa and Bear Share. But those came with big risks. Remember the Minnesota lady who had to pay the record companies over $200,000 in fines for downloading 24 songs?
On top of that, internet service providers started sending out warning letters to customers who accessed these sites. I remember getting letters from Comcast and Charter. The warning letter showed what programs I used, the time I used them, my IP address and the IP address I was getting my files from.
Nowadays finding a movie is pretty easy and safe. You just have to know where to look.
