Setting your Amazon remote to control your soundbar will save you the hassle of having to use multiple remotes while watching tv. The method I’m about to show you will work with any audio device you program your Amazon remote control to. This includes bluetooth speakers, smart speakers and A/V receivers.

The first thing you’re gonna do is grab your television remote control and head over to the “CEC” menu and make sure it is enabled. Most newer model televisions come with this feature already enabled, but we need to double check so we don’t run into any issues.

Next thing you need to do is head over to your Amazon settings tab and locate the “equipment control” menu as seen in picture 1. Once inside, select on “manage equipment.” Inside this menu (picture 2) you can select on what audio device you want to program your Fire Stick remote to. If you don’t see yours on this list select “add equipment” and select your device.

After you select an option, your Fire TV Stick will walk you through programming your remote control to your device. If you’re having any issues, check out my how-to video here.

After you’ve programmed your Fire TV Stick remote to your audio device, go back to the “manage equipment” menu and select on “advanced settings.”

Here you’re going to select on the “volume control device” tab. Afterwards select a device you want your fire stick remote to control the volume on. That’s it.
