For a better understanding of what this device can do, let’s go over some real world examples.
- 1) You have an older model television that’s not compatible with your new soundbar. Avantree can connect to your televisions audio output using a 3.5 mm jack. Or you can use the supplied mic and place it by your tv speakers.
- 2) Your laptop or desktop computer doesn’t have bluetooth. Again, connect your Avantree into you computers audio out port and you’re good to go.
Pass-through lets you hear your TV audio through a soundbar or external speakers and from your connected headphones at the same time. Perfect when gathering with family or friends where individuals with hearing issues normally could not enjoy what is on the TV. Using pass-through, anyone needing headphones could connect and experience the audio the same way anyone listening through the soundbar or external speakers would.
Unlike other Bluetooth transmitters that only support 2 CH (left/right speaker), Orbit supports 5.1 CH Surround Sound. Most streaming services (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, and more) deliver high-quality digital sound in 5.1 Surround Sound. Avoid having to reduce the sound quality by changing your TV’s audio setting to PCM. Instead, enjoy cinematic sound quality through your connected speakers or wireless headphones.
Avantree’s intelligent interface lets you adjust the volume of your headphones. This feature is essential for headphones or speakers that do not come with on-device volume control or when connecting the transmitter to your TV through the optical audio out port. Select the device using the up/down buttons until your headphones are highlighted, and then use the “+” or “-“ to quickly adjust the volume – it’s that easy.
My Take:
I consider myself to be a savvy techie. I like having the newest in electronics but I’m not about to, nor can I afford to dish out a couple grand on a new sound system because it has one feature mine doesn’t. With this device I’m able to solve all of my audio problems. Bluetooth on my outdated computer, bluetooth on my outdated tv, bluetooth on my cheap fm radio, I’m like Oprah with this thing. “You get bluetooth, you get bluetooth, you get bluetooth”.
