If you’re reading this article then I’m sure you’re familiar with the 1996 breakout hit Sling Blade. Written to be a more serious film that addressed social issues such as religion, and prejudice, many fans including myself found humor in a lot of the scenes. Most notable is the scene where Doyle ( Dwight Yoakam) and his band mates get together for a late night jam session.
Contrary to popular belief, Sling Blade is not based on a true story, in fact it’s all made up. In a 1997 Charlie Rose interview Billy Bob stated that Karl Childers’ iconic look came from him “making faces” at himself in the mirror.
Amazon Click- Daily DealsSling Blade has made its rounds across various free streaming platforms but lately it hasn’t been available to watch anywhere. Currently the hit movie is only available for purchase with prices ranging from $.025 for VHS up to $99.99 for Blue Ray. Try searching the movie on your streaming device, it won’t show up in the search results.
