After only 6 months short form streaming service Quibi announces its exit from the streaming world, making it the shortest lived streaming service to date.
Shortly after launch it became apparent that users weren’t happy with the mobile-only service as it quickly dropped out of the top 70 apps in the IOS store within 1 week and continued to fall throughout the months.

Many users criticized the service for its lack of standard features. Screen shots and screen cast were an afterthought and only implemented after numerous complaints from subscribers.
In an open letter to employees, investors and partners, founders Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman stated: “We feel that we’ve exhausted all our options. As a result we have reluctantly come to the difficult decision to wind down the business, return cash to our shareholders, and say goodbye to our colleagues with grace,”
Quibi produced great content with big name actors like Kevin Hart, Idris Elba and Laurence Fishburne, but for most, the content wasn’t enough.
