YouTube TV is the latest victim of Corporate Bullying as they have yet to reach an agreement with Sinclair Broadcasting Group. Sinclair would have you believing that YouTube TV is to blame for you not have your channels, when in fact it’s them you should blame. What they are doing is extorting you through YouTube TV.
Here’s how it works:
- The content provider( Sinclair) has a contract with a contract Distributor (YouTube TV) for a certain amount of years at a certain price
- When that contract is up, instead of renewing at the same price, the content Providers (Sinclair) tries to up the price based on the popularity of the content distributor (YouTube TV) this is why other (less popular services) still carry the programming. They simply don’t have the subscribers or revenue to be bullied (YET)
- When the content distributors don’t agree with their terms, us/you as consumers assume that it’s YouTube’s fault, when in fact what YouTube is trying to do is negotiate a price so that they wont have to increase subscription costs.
- Sinclair pulls their channels and blames it on YouTube TV. That’s like going to a dealership and blaming the car salesman that the MSRP is too high. HE DID’NT SET THE PRICE!! They only sale the product, not make it.
For years it’s been said that cable and satellite companies are greedy. We as consumers have stop citing with content/license holders like Sinclair. You cancelling YouTube TV or any service because of lost channels only helps them and that in turn raises prices.
Ladies and gentlemen disputes like this is the reason why cable and satellite prices sky rocketed. Stop blaming the wrong guy.
