Going to the movies in 2020 quickly became something of the past. The entire industry was put on hold, and then it’s release strategies turned upside down. Streaming became everything for most of the year as the studios tried to figure out how they were going to turn the movies they had yet to release around.
Disney, Universal, and Warner Brothers set a precedent last year straight to streaming releases on streaming platforms. With its release of Wonder Woman 1984, HBO Max set the industry on fire because it’s never heard of before release strategy and the announcement that all of Warner Brothers films in 2021 will be released on the platform the same day as theaters.
Netflix just announced that they will release a significant film every week of 2021, which again turned the whole industry into a frenzy. But it’s good news for you because there will be what feels like an endless supply of movies coming to streaming platforms throughout the entire year!
