Netflix has one of the biggest libraries of any streaming platform out there. Hosting over 15,000 movies, shows and documentaries. This can make it extremely difficult to find something to watch. Most viewers never make it past the recommendation page.

Netflix, like many other platforms, uses an algorithm that recommends titles similar to the genre of content you watch the most. But what if you’re genre selection is all over the place. You’re gonna get recommended titles you’re not interested in, and instead of browsing through the seemingly endless list of content, you’re gonna be back at square one settling for something on the recommendation page.

There are 2 methods to help you instantly find the exact content you want to watch.

Searching Netflix by Genre

This method I find is the best way to quickly find exactly what you want to watch. Simply go to the search menu and type in the genre of content you want to watch. So for example, if you search ‘thriller’ you’ll notice that Netflix will give you options for different types of thrillers. Crime, Psychological and more.

Netflix Secret Codes

Browsing Netflix by code allows you to quickly jump to a genre or sub-genre of content. Go to the search menu and type in the code for the genre or sub-genre of content you want to watch. I find that this method does get you exactly where you want to be, but you do have to know what code to type in. You can visit Netflix-codes.com for a full list.
