Dolby Vision is a proprietary technology developed by Dolby Laboratories that enhances the viewing experience of movies and TV shows. It is a high dynamic range (HDR) format that provides brighter highlights, greater contrast, and a wider range of colors than standard dynamic range (SDR) formats. Dolby Vision uses metadata to communicate scene-by-scene instructions to the TV, telling it how to adjust the brightness, color, and contrast to match the content being displayed.

Dolby Vision content is available on some streaming services like Netflix and Disney+ and on some 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs. To experience Dolby Vision, a compatible display and content source are required. Many high-end TVs from major manufacturers like LG, Sony, Roku and Vizio support Dolby Vision.
