Dish has just released its AirTV mini. The Streaming dongle will feature apps such as Sling TV and Netflix, has built in chromecast and gives you access to the Google Play store for even more cord cutter apps like YouTube and Android TV. AirTV mini is 4K capable and you can access local channels for free by adding an AirTV player and HD antenna. You do not need to have a Dish or Sling TV subscription to use this device.

The AirTV mini has bluetooth capabilities making it a more versatile streaming dongle like the Fire TV Stick. You can connect bluetooth headphones, headsets and even game controllers.

The AirTV mini is small and discrete. It fits behind your television and can be powered using most modern 5V/ 1.0A USB outlets. It uses Wifi 802.11 b/g/n/a/ac 2.4G/5G 2T2R Wi-Fi and with the built in chromecast you can easily mirror whatever’s on your mobile device to your TV, making this the ultimate cord cutter device.

What do you think about the AirTV mini? Is it priced to high?

A similar setup with a Fire TV Recast and a 4K Fire TV stick will cost between $200 and $300 maybe more depending on what model Recast you purchase and if it’s on sale.

AirTV mini with AirTV player will cost around $180. You decide.
