Here at the Otantenna labs I work hard to figure out fixes to cord cutters biggest problems, one being how to integrate your local stations into your Roku player without the need to pay for a streaming service.

Having this option can save cord cutters even more money while eliminating the need to switch inputs on your television which could be a hard task for some people.

First thing you’ll need is an over-the-air network device that is compatible with Roku such as a Tablo or AirTV player. This is needed because the Roku player itself can’t pull in local stations so you’re going to need a device that can do this and has a streaming channel with Roku.

Tablo and AirTV are currently the only OTA  players with Roku channels. Others like Channel Master and TiVo do not.

Next you’ll need to set up your OTA player. (Tablo, AirTV)

Once your device is setup. On your Roku player search and add the appropriate channel (Sling, Tablo)

The AirTV player uses the Sling app to access your OTA channels. You’ll need an account for each device but no money or credit card info is required. Sling also has free content on their app courtesy of FilmRise.

That’s it!! Happy watching and be sure to follow me on my social profiles.
