Recently I did an unboxing video of Dish’s new streaming player the AirTV Mini. Though the initial setup process was smooth I did have to go back into the settings to program the remote to a non-Smart television. If you have smart TV and it’s connected to your Wifi the AirTV Mini will recognize it and automatically program to that TV, but if you don’t you have to go through the on screen prompts to program it. The process very simple, similar to what Roku and Dish’s Hopper does.
- Start by pressing the ‘Home’ button at the bottom right side of the remote. This will ensure that you are on the proper screen.
2. Next go to the settings tab at the top right side of the screen and press ‘OK’
3. In the settings menu scroll down to ‘ Remotes and Accessories’ and press ‘OK’
4.Next, scroll down to ‘AirTV’ and press ‘OK’
5. Go to ‘Change TV Setup and press ‘OK’
6. Your AirTV Mini will search for available devices. Note that it does this on initial setup but as mentioned above if your television is not a Smart TV it will not recognize it. Also if you perform this scan after initial setup it will recognize your TV as it is now technically a Smart TV. Still follow the on-screen prompts to ensure proper programming.
If it recognizes your device press ‘Finish’ if not select ‘Change TV’ and press ‘OK’
7. Lastly, scroll through the list of available TV brands, select your brand and follow the on-screen prompts.
