Netflix just took the first step in this new “streaming age” that we all knew was coming. COVID-19 has seen many ups and downs. But for those who make a living off of streaming media it has been an awesome year. As confusing as this year is, many Media companies like RokuViacom, AT&T and many more have seen astronomical growth in views and sales.

The confusing part is while most of these companies post lay-offs, not many post a decline in sales.  ( Restructure)

One of the biggest questions during the streaming boom is, what new streaming service will knock-off Netflix? I’ve always said that Netflix is in a lane of its own.

By creating their own content that people love and enjoy they put themselves in a position similar to Disney+ where they can have original content on their own platform while selling content to other streaming platforms.

Creating their own content and not having live TV excludes them from having the same problems that many of us experience with Cable, Satellite and now Streaming services. ( Loss of Programming) This is the main reason why there has been no major price increase.

Narcos
  • Starting October 20th 2020 Netflix’s Original series Narcos will start streaming on the free Viacom owned, ad-based platform Pluto TV.

This my fellow Cord Cutters Marks the Beginning of Something New and Better. Or maybe not.
