NFL Plus Streaming Service may be on the way with a Streamer Friendly Price Tag

There are currently 3 ways to get all in on NFL action: NFL Redzone, NFL Game Pass and NFL Sunday Ticket. In a recent CNBC interview NFL commissioner Roger Goodell spoke on moving NFL Sunday Ticket from pay tv a streaming platform.

Goodell stated, “I clearly believe we’ll be moving to a streaming service, I think that’s best for consumers at this stage.“

He also confirmed that the NFL is looking to launch a new streaming service called “NFL Plus” by the start of the 2022 season. But what will the new streaming service bring to the table, the NFL already has 3 other services. The question is will NFL Plus add to the confusion?

What is NFL Game Pass

NFL Game Pass is a subscription based audio and video service that allows users to hear and watch live and archived National Football League games via an Internet connection. NFL Game Pass is an on-demand streaming service costing $99 per season and allows you to watch every NFL game without commercials right after it finishes airing live.

NFL Redzone

NFL RedZone brings the best of the Game-day action in the NFL. As a live broadcast for Sunday afternoon games, NFL RedZone focuses on the games where an offense is inside the 20 yard line (in the ‘RedZone’). Not only that, but NFL RedZone guarantees to bring you every touchdown from every Sunday Game Day. NFL Redzone is available through pay tv and streaming services or $5 per month as a standalone streaming service.

NFL Sunday Ticket

NFL Sunday Ticket is an out-of-market sports package that broadcasts National Football League regular season games unavailable on local affiliates. NFL Sunday Tickets cost up to $300 per season.

Details of the new streaming service have not been released but based on what’s already available for NFL Plus to make sense the NFL will have to get rid of NFL Redzone and Game Pass or merge the 2 services to make room. Plus the price would have to be more cord cutter friendly.
