LET THE AD WARS BEGIN!!

The cord cutting market has took an unexpected turn, so in addition to companies wanting to “save you money” they now want to save you money and collect your data and sell it. Before we get into what this  Roku and Dataxu buyout means for us cord cutters let’s look at why this fight for ad space shouldn’t shock you.

Every since Facebook showed that a company can make billions of dollars on ad revenue along, that has been the main focus for a lot of companies and people. The opportunity to pin point your consumer apparently is worth a ton of money because it works. That’s why some YouTubers are making a ton of money, right? The obvious is that the more convenient a service or product is, the more skeptical you should be, but the biggest question is does it matter to you, because it doesn’t to me. I assume that whatever service I’m using is recording or watching what I do, that’s why any device I own with a camera has a piece of tape over the lens. The next question is do you feel you should be paying for it. I don’t.

The 2019 Roku Ultra is pretty much the same as the 2018 model only with a few extra perks. The same goes for cell phones. Next years model is pretty much the same as last years only it has more features to monitor you more.

Who or what is dataxu?

Dataxu is a software company that helps ad agencies and marketing companies use data to help improve advertising.

What does Roku a streaming device company need with a marketing software company? Roku is now running ads inside of commercials. It’s good for business, but is it good for the consumer. It’s always bad when money takes lead over the product itself. Yea the product is great but, will the obvious objective for them to earn more ad revenue  be a big drawback? Below is an exert fro dataxu’s website.

“Here at dataxu, we may be powered by data, but the truth is that we’re inspired by you. Your business challenges are what get us up every morning and keeps us going. Your wins are our wins. And your successes feel like our successes. We always strive to be even better, to help you and your business get even better, too.

We believe that data, when analyzed, reported and applied with transparency and ingenuity, holds the power to take you and your clients further than ever before. We exist to help you use the power of data to create insights into your clients’ most important audiences, to connect with them more personally and with greater impact. In a world of walled gardens and opaque business practices, we offer unobstructed visibility into your markets, audiences and performance. And we’re laser-focused on helping you and your team solve tough business challenges by providing the data-backed confidence you need to demonstrate your achievements.”

For me, I don”t mind ads especially if it’s showing me something I wouldn’t otherwise known about. How do you feel?
