Otantenna Streaming Wars begin with a face off between the top 2 cheapest streaming platforms, Philo and Sling TV. To kick things off let’s start with an overview of each service before we get into the specifics.

Philo TV:

1 package which includes 59 channels. No add-ons, no premiums and no locals

 

  • 3 screens at once
  • save unlimited shows for 30 days
  • $20 per month

Sling TV:

3 U.S. packages, they have Spanish and International packages as well.

  • 1-3 screens at once depending on package
  • 10 hours of cloud DVR storage comes standard. For more storage you’ll need to add the DVR Extra 
  • loacal stations where available
  • add-ons available. (varies depending on package)
  • $30-$45 per month not including add-ons

For the channel lineup I’m only gonna show the Philo TV channels and list what package you will need to get those channels with Sling TV. Sling TV will be in Bold Print

Sling TV gives you way more options including local channels, but at a slightly higher cost. If Philo has all the channels you need I would recommend getting an over the air HD antenna to pull in your local stations. That way you save the most money and still get all the channels you desire. If you need a DVR there are devices out that allow you to record Live local stations without a monthly fee. (TivoAirTV 2Channel Master, ECT)
