If you’re a true cord cutter then location plays a major part in the amount of channels you get. If you live in a rural area then you are most likely gonna need an outdoor antenna and that means more money up front. And a more expensive long range antenna still doesn’t guarantee you all your channels.
So that brings the question, is cord cutting about saving money or sticking it to the cable companies. If sticking it to the cable companies is your goal then you succeeded when you first cut the cord. If you just wanna save money then the amount of channels you have should not be a problem because more than likely you are planning on doing more outdoorsy activities.
Has cord cutting made my live a lot easier? No, the only thing it does is put money in the bank for me and my kids for the future and to me that’s worth it.
There have been plenty of times where I looked back on things I bought and said I could’ve just put that money in the bank cause I sure do need it now. And cutting the cord allows me to have that extra money for emergencies and other things.
So when you decide to cut the cord decide what you’re doing it for because replacing one bill with 5 is really not that convenient no matter the cost.
When I created my website and YouTube page my goal was gonna be to focus on cord cutting, which to me meant the internet as well. But I soon realized that most people keep the internet and only cut the cable cord.
I’ve lived without home internet and cable for almost 3 years now and I can honestly say I don’t miss anything. One thing you have to understand is that as humans we adjust. Sure my kids want me to get home internet but that’s not a priority.
Their need for internet has grown as they’ve gotten older. Before it was just a specific video game, now they “need” the internet to play a specific game and I have to remind them of how it was and how it could be. (A lot worse) So they find things to do like I did when I was a child.
