TeeVee is an up and coming streaming service who recently announced plans to give away ad-supported televisions for free. The service was reportedly founded in 2016 by then 33 year old Pluto TV co-founder Ilya Pozin.

As of today, their channel pricing is a complete mystery, though there are articles from 2016 that shows one plan at $69.99 per month.

Back to the Ad-Supported tv’s

According to a recent article posted on lowpass.com TeeVee’s ad-supported television will feature a second smaller screen ( similar in size to a phone screen) for ad placements and other information such as sports scores, weather, news, and stock tickers.

Based on the information presented this seems to be developmental ideas and in my opinion if they do decide to give away an ad-supported television only those without internet or who can’t afford it will apply for one. As I mentioned in previous articles the only way a new cord-cutting tech company can succeed is to create something new. A while back Roku had this thing where they would diplay ads whenever you paused your television and it infuriated a lot of people.

Looking at the bigger picture, the idea of an ad-supported tv can easily be created by existing companies who already have the platform, viewers, money and tech. Companies like Roku and Amazon, hell even smart tv makers like Vizio, TCL and LG can create this with a simply software update. Unless their only business plan is to get ad revenue then I can understand the concept but even at a $0 cost nowadays ads are everywhere and my guess is that those who do try it will become frustrated.

My biggest question is will they end up like Dabby, the all-in-one streaming device that allowed you to have all your streaming services in one place. But in the meantime below is a complete list of channels available on TeeVee.
