After decades of speculation, the popular Japanese animated series ‘Cowboy Bebop’ is finally coming to life thanks to Netflix. Back in 2008 it was reported that a potential movie was in the works starring Keanu Reeves, but the project was killed because of budget issues. The show was only around for 2 seasons but was an instant success with viewers. A Japanese version of the film was release in 2001
The new live action sci-fi series will premiere on Netflix, November 19th. It will star Jon Cho (American Pie series, Gemini), Mustafa Shakir (Quarry, Law & Order) and Daniella Pineda ( Jurassic World).
Cowboy Bebop is space Western about three bounty hunters, aka “cowboys,” all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals, for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.
