Recently I spoke on an issue I had when trying to cancel my Dame Dash Studios subscription. I review streaming services for a living, so in this case I subscribed to the service to see what the platform had to offer and I found that a lot of the content I like was available for free on other platforms so I decided to cancel my subscription. This was on December 12th. Also, there was a 7-day free trial offer when I signed up.
As a habit I check all of my finances at the end of each month, and on December 30th I found a charge to my account from DameDashStudios.com, I immediately filed a dispute . This charge happened 18 days after I signed up. 11 days after my free trial period, never in my 4 years of reporting on cord cutting service has this happened. What’s going on here?
My credit card company gave me an instant credit and advised me that they will contact DameDashStudios.com for further information. 5 days later I received a new credit card. I let my YouTube subscribers know about this issue and one commenter said that he’d been charged for several months without even realizing it. One commenter said ” it’s Dame Dash bro, he’s gonna drift”.
I’ve subbed and instantly unsubbed to dozens of streaming services. Some I kept because I enjoyed the content, but I’ve never had this issue happen before, have you? Is this a mistake or a completely accurate representation of the owner of this service?
- * On a side note, DameDashStidios.com has no ‘help‘ or ‘faq‘ section. I never received an email confirmation when I signed up or when I cancelled. The information displayed about ‘my account‘ was extremely minimal, in fact it was the most suspect ‘account info’ section I’ve ever seen and I’ve tried some pretty iffy streaming and IPTV services. All I can say is based on my experience with DameDashStudios, STAY AWAY!
