Sling Freestream is a free streaming service by Sling, a company of Dish Network. The service is available through the Sling app and offers viewers content from various networks like Cartoon Network and PBS but the big question for many cord cutters is, is it worth it?

I’ve always say ” to determine how customer friendly a free streaming is you need to first look at its search feature”. And the reason I live by that model is because I don’t want content jammed in my face as soon as I open the app.( Like Pluto TV) First off you need to know that content floats around, so if a movie you wanted to see on Tubi tv is gone simply check other free streaming platforms, I guarantee it will be on another free platform, it’s been happening for years.

Sling Freestreams search feature allows you to search anything; actor, title and even genres, in my book this is a plus, plus. Next is the guide, it has tabs for easy access to sports, movies, news, favorites and your recent watch history. Another perk is that if you own an AirTV player you can stream and watch your locals through the Sling app for free.

Sling Freestream has content from various networks like; IFC, amc, Shout, Awesome and the list goes on. Sure they offer content from networks already on other free streamers BUT, it’s not the same content. As I mentioned before, content jumps around so basically this means if Tubi has seasons 1 and 2 of Sanford then it’s possible that Pluto will have seasons 3 and 4 and Crackle has seasons 5 and 6. It’s just how streaming works.

My Take on Sling Freestream

This is a service I would recommend and for a few reasons. 1 is that Sling is a well known brand and I would expect that anything they do is for the long term and the betterment of the company and 2 is that the platform they use is already well established so I know I wont have to deal with any glitched or setbacks while streaming.
