Spotify tends to have issues across all of their apps, but for those who find it more convenient to watch or listen on a Roku device it can become extremely frustrating when you’re listening to a podcast and in the middle it stops or the channel instantly crashes– all the time.
There are 2 ways to stop Spotify from crashing on a Roku device. The first and easiest is to check and make sure the app is up-to-date.
How to Manually Update your Roku Device
- Go to ‘system settings‘ and select ‘system update‘. This allows you to manually update every Roku Channel you have at one time.
- For good measure you should restart your Roku device. ‘System Restart‘ is located in the ‘System Settings‘ menu.
Next, try opening the Spotify channel. If you’re still having the same issues you’re gonna need to remove or delete the app and re-add it.
How to Remove a Roku Channel
- From your home screen, hoover over the channel you want to remove
- Press the ‘option‘ button on the Roku remote
- Select remove channel
- Next, re-add the channel and login
Spotify is available across most cord cutter platforms. IOS, Google Play, Apple App Store, Amazon Store, Xbox, Playstation, Select Smart TV’s and Web Browsers and Windows desktop App.
