Quibi’s hand has officially been shown and the cards show a Royal Flush. At least that’s what the investors and Ad partners see. Quibi, a short form mobile friendly service is set to be the first of its kind, and big companies like Google and T-mobile have decided to invest with them. 

Quibi’s Meg Whitman (Chief Executive Officer) and Jeffrey Katzenberg (Founder & Chairman of the Board) spoke extensively on Quibi’s platform and features. The key feature being Quibi’s turnstile design that gives viewers 2 perspectives, Portrait and Landscape without any back bars to fill out the screen. Aside from that the key thing to remember is that Quibi is made and designed for mobile viewing, which is one of the reasons T-Mobile decided to partner with them. T-Mobile was invited on stage to speak on why they decided to partner with Quibi and for them it just makes sense. T-Mobile has the farthest reach when it comes to 5G, reaching 200 million people in 5,000 cities and towns. T-Mobile also noted that 80% of their 68 million subscribers watch short form content. Quibi, being the first of its kind will have to create all new content. At launch Quibi will have:

• 175 New Shows
• 8500 Quick bites

The content will be broken down into 3 categories:

(1)Movies:

• Quibi will have all genres of Movies but in short form. (10 minutes or less) Which means you get to the plot twist and resolution much quicker. This creates a better experience because you weed out all of the fluff scenes.
• Some movies will be broken down into chapters. For example, you can have a 4 chapter movie lasting 15 seconds each chapter.

(2) Unscripted Shows.

• Docuseries, Documentaries and Reality TV
• Food, Fashion and more. Including a court show starring Chrissy Teigen. Which garnered over 3,000 actual court cases within 24 hours after announcing her new show on social media.

(3) Daily Essentials

• Will feature News and Lifestyle content 5-6 minutes long.
• Am and PM news stories
• Content from top news providers such as TMZ, NBC, BBC, Telemundo and more
• Game shows
• Weather channel, whch will feature local and global weather 
• Meditation videos
• Barkitecture, like MTV cribs but for dogs
