Dabby is a new streaming device that turned heads back in January at CES 2020 garnering tons of media attention even before its official launch. The shocker is after all the media coverage from blogs and top sources, no news has come out since their launch date. Why?
My first guess would be that the device that turned heads at CES is no longer ‘that‘ device. Looking at the photos above you’ll see that the finished product is completely different from the initial one. Not a big deal, right? The finished product is almost always different from the prototypes, as long as the core features stay the same. Concept cars are always completely different from their production models.
Another guess would be that what they initially offered is no longer in play. Dabby’s initial offering was a streaming device consumers purchased and owned. The device had the ability to track users spending, keeping track of what streaming services they used and didn’t use. Potentially saving them money.
Pre-launch, Dabby was going for $399 per device (not including additional dongles for extra televisions), and customers added and paid for their own subscription services. But now, for $99.00 per month customers lease the device and the streaming services are included. Current subscriptions included in the monthly fee are, Netflix, Disney, Showtime, Hulu, HBO Max, Starz, Cinemax, Shudder, EPIX, AMC Premiere, Sundance Now, Urban Movie Channel, Acorn TV with more being added everyday. Locals are also include.

Their new price plan seems more inline with what consumers need, but just don’t know it yet. With that being said, will consumers catch on before this falls off? For product features, specs, and more, visit Dabby’s website Here
